A shocking video has emerged showing an impatient driver recklessly overtaking two lanes of traffic – and narrowly missing crashing into a seven tonne forklift.
The careless motorist was captured on a cyclist’s Go-Pro cam losing patience with the red car in front and a telehandler – used for moving heavy objects.
Driving in a souped up, red Ford Focus with blacked out windows and spoiler the driver overtakes a red car in front before driving over chevrons and ending up in the lane for oncoming traffic.
The idiotic move results in him almost crashing straight into the heavy machinery as it’s shown starting to turn right into the junction of a nearby building site.
The yellow crane can be seen hitting on the brakes heavily to avoid smashing into the car before the footage ends.
The short clip was captured on Friday 19 May near the Jewel area of Edinburgh.
The footage, showing a licence plate including the letters “CCK”, prompted has since prompted one viewer to say: “That licence plate sums this driver up, the O is missing though”.
A spokesman for Scotland’s Worst Drivers, said: “I can’t fathom out what was going through this drivers mind at the time.
“Not only did he cross chevrons, but to overtake two vehicles, one of which was a telehandler weighing in excess of 7 tonnes is crazy.
“From the footage it appears neither driver realised what the other was doing either and I expect they both got a fright!”
